As Canadians, we are proud of our diversity—our many stories, traditions, backgrounds and our two official languages. Our government also firmly believes that a strong Canada depends on a free, open and independent media.

That is why we are committed to support community newspapers in official language minority communities across the country. Your work in supporting our English-speaking communities in Quebec is essential. By showcasing their stories with sincerity and honesty, you help ensure that Canadians are well-informed, represented and seen. This empowers them to contribute fully to our society.
