Civic Literacy Project

QCNA is happy to share a new project from The Sherbrooke Record

The Record have started a new series in the newspaper to help readers understand the systems in place that most closely affect them.

They are focusing on seven different themes throughout this series:

• Health
• Education
• Municipal governance
• Media • Community organizations and non-profits
• Politics/political structures
• Legal matters

The goal is to provide well-researched, fact-based information to readers so that we can be well-informed, engaged citizens in our communities. Get involved! We can’t do this alone, nor should we. If there is a topic you believe should be covered in this series, or if you have knowledge/experience in an often-misunderstood field and you can help explain it in a way that is easy to understand, send an email with your ideas to mmccully@sherbrookerecord.com

This civic literacy column will run every Monday in The Record and it will also be posted on our website. If you are a publisher or editor of a QCNA member newspaper and wish to re-publish this content in your newspaper, also reach out to Matthew McCully at mmccully@sherbrookerecord.com.
