The 2022 Fall Cleanup “Grand Ménage” is fast approaching and residents can register until September 26. This event brings together residents to help clean up local green spaces and shorelines. The event occurs twice a year, once in the spring and another in the fall. Each year, excluding the pandemic time, on average 16,000 volunteers participate in both of the events.
Besides cleaning up neighbourhoods, the Grand Ménage aims to raise public awareness of the environment and to strengthen the sense of belonging in the community.
The cleanup will occur on October 1 from 9 - 11:30am. To participate individuals must register on the Gatineau website: There are three official locations for the cleanup: Parc des Rapides-Deschênes in Aylmer, Lac-Leamy park in Hull, and Gilbert-Garneau Park in Gatineau.
