Oil Spill causes more frequent water testing at Aylmer Marina

City of Gatineau officials were called to the Marina to confirm an oil spill on the Ottawa River, on Monday July 12. The spill was around 400 meters in diameter, right outside the Aylmer Marina.
The cause is still undetermined and the beach remains open. The water is being tested every half an hour to ensure quality. Although there is still some remaining oil in the water, it is believed to dissolve eventually on its own and is just downstream from the beach.
